War Mapper is a one-person project which was started on 24th February 2022 when the Russian army conducted a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Since the invasion began War Mapper has produced regular updates for the war in Ukraine presenting only confirmed territorial control changes.

Following the detail of a conflict can at times be confusing. The purpose of this project is to bring together all of the confirmed information each week and produce a simple-to-understand consolidated update to allow people to keep up to date on the changes.

The project has since expanded to cover other conflicts around the world including: Israel / Gaza, Armenia / Azerbaijan, Sudan, and Mali.
